Entry requirements into Malaysia

Visitors must meet the following requirements before entering Malaysia:
- 1.1. Have a Valid Passport or Document.
- Everyone must have a recognized and valid passport or international travel document to enter Malaysia.
- Any passport or travel document that is not recognized by the Malaysian Government, must have a Document replacinga Passport.
- A passport that can be applied for at any Malaysian Representative Office abroad.
- Holders of travel documents such as Declaration of Identity, Laiiser Passer, Titre de Voyage or Permanent Resident Certificate of a country need to ensure that their return to their country or the country that issued the document is guaranteed.
- Documentsmust be valid for six months or more from the date of entry into Malaysia.
- 1.2. Have a Visa.
- A visa is a type of endorsement in a passport or any other recognized foreign travel document that indicates that the holder has been granted permission to enter Malaysia.
- Foreign nationals who require a visa must first apply at any Malaysian Representative Office abroad.
- The visa issued is not an absolute guarantee that the individual will be allowed to enter the country.
- The final decision is at the discretion of the Immigration Officer on duty at the gate.
- 1.3. Have a valid return ticket and sufficient expenses.
- Every visitor is also required to prove the financial ability to declare himself in Malaysia along with a fixed return ticket to return to his home country or to another country.
- 1.4. Not an illegal immigrant.
- Any person recognized under Section 8 of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 is not allowed to enter Malaysia despite having a valid Passport or travel document, visa, travel ticket and sufficient expenses.
- 1.5. Filling in the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card(MDAC).
- Visitors are required to complete a Malaysia Digital Arrival Card(MDAC)/ (IM.26) upon arrival at any gate of entry gazetted at the URL https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main.
- Visitors must present their passports together with a complete MDACto the Immigration Officer on duty and visitors must also ensure that their passports or travel documents are validated with the appropriate passbefore leaving the immigration counter.

About the Pass
- 2.1. Apart from applications to enter Malaysia for the purpose of a social or business visit, all applications for other types of passes must be applied for before entering the country.
- 2.2. Each application must have a sponsor who will be responsible for the presence of the subject in the country or for the delivery of the subject if necessary.

Pass Requirements
- 3.1. Foreign nationals who wish to visit Malaysia must obtain a Passport at the entrance in addition to a visa (if necessary) that allows them to stay temporarily in the country.
- 3.2. A passport is a type of endorsement in a passport that gives permission to stay in Malaysia for an authorized period.
