Dato' Dr Dionysius Shankar Kumar Sharma, PhD Chief Executive Officer, WWF-Malaysia

Dato' Dr Dionysius's involvement in conservation programme and his interests in ecology and biological diversity; from year 1990 and until now, has brought him with various awards and professional membership; which among others are IUCN/Species Survival Commission (SSC) Marine Turtle Specialist Group, IUCN/SSC Asian Rhino Specialist Group and award for “The Outstanding Young Malaysian Award 2005 – Certificate of Merit, Personal Achievement.

Education
After receiving his Bachelors Degree in Ecology from the University of Malaya and later his Ph.D. in Conservation Biology from the University of Kent, England, he had spent more than 17 years in World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and worked his way from Trainer Scientific Officer up to his current position, as the Executive Director of WWF- Malaysia.

Publications
Dato' Dr. Dionysius has written publications from journals, presented seminar, theses and conferences papers on wildlife, conservations and biodiversity, ecology and on other related subjects.

Dato' Dr. Dionysius is the author of several leading books and has also conducted consultancy projects and conservation-related work all over the world. Dato' also conducted professional training and facilitation.
