Sabah International Expo 2006 (SIE2006) was held from 10 to 13 August 2006. The SIE2006 had been very successful for the Exhibitors who took up 134 booths. Spot sales worth RM2,546,149.65 were concluded during the 4-day Expo. Potential deals in the form of possible orders worth RM18,100,600.00 were also secured. Therefore total potential business deals worth RM20,646,749.65 were generated by exhibitors and trade visitors at the SIE2006.
Feedback questionnaires from the exhibitors were very positive. 91% of the exhibitors commented that SIE2006 fulfilled their expectations. 97% of the exhibitors considered the exposition effective in presenting their products and services to the trade visitors and the public
There were 35 foreign exhibition booths. Therefore SIE2006 was certified as an International Exposition by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). This enabled Malaysian exhibitors (SMIs) to be able to claim for a 50% rebate through MATRADE under the Market Development Grant (MDG).

Number of Trade Visitors: 9,000
Foreign trade visitors came from: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Bangladesh, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Poland, Republic of Guinea, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Swaziland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.
There was strong international participation at the Exhibition. The exhibitors at the 52 international booths came from the following countries: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, China, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America and Vietnam.
